Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum

The Lincoln Pioneer Village was constructed during 1935-1937 with government funds by the Works Projects Administration (WPA). The village consists of 14 Lincoln-era replica cabins in memorial to Abraham Lincoln’s 14 years spent in Spencer County.

The Museum was built by the Rockport Park Improvement Association and houses hundreds of fascinating artifacts from the area’s historic past including; a hutch made by Abraham Lincoln’s father, Thomas Lincoln.  The Museum was dedicated on July 4th, 1935 and is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2010.

The Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum is located in Rockport City Park, at the west end of Main Street in Rockport.
