The river front under the bluff at Rockport is rich with history including the site where Abraham Lincoln launched a flatboat to transport produce to New Orleans for a local merchant in 1828. Abraham Lincoln saw slavery for the first time during this trip to New Orleans. Lincoln Landing is located on River Road at the east end of Main Street in Rockport.
